The March full moon is often called the Sap Moon by Native Peoples who used the Moon’s phases to track the seasons; this time of the year heralds the sugaring season when sap begins to flow in maple trees and the ground begins to soften enough for earthworms to reappear, inviting the return of robins. Take a guided walk to Swope’s Field to watch the moon rise. Dress appropriately for weather conditions. Inclement weather cancels. For adults. Programs require pre-registration. To register, visit www.teatown.org or call 914-762-2912 x 110.
