The Woodstock Playhouse, was established on its present site in 1938 as one of the first rural extensions of Broadway. It cultivates the respect and appreciation for the Arts through excellence in performance and performing arts education.

The Woodstock Playhouse project is maintained as a non-profit entity to preserve the internationally reknowned history of the Woodstock Playhouse who directors and actors are household names across the globe and on the tongues of theatre historians.

The preservation of the Woodstock Playhouse treasure is an homage to her past brilliance, her present through live theatre both professional and education based, and to her future so that generations to come will be able to appreciate the seed which grew from the 'first family of Woodstock'.
