Presenting Artists:
Erik Lawrence is a saxophonist and flutist: two Grammy’s as founding member of the Levon Helm Band, multi-platinum record with the Spin Doctors, has appeared on most major stages and festivals, tv shows, and hundreds of recordings. He is a sound and vibrational healer utilizing traditional and original techniques including toning, tuning forks, Tibetan bowls and especially the deep vibrational tones of his personal sound on saxophones and flutes.
Jamie Gaviola paints intricate mandalas through a synthesis of technique and flow that equate to a meditative process. Deeply saturated hues are applied in rhythmic pattern with a near-compulsive attention to precision and detail to portray a sense of gravity and movement. In addition to extensively exhibiting her work she has been an artist in residence at the Wanderlust Yoga Festivals.
Allison Egan Datwani is a Yoga teacher and writes the blog Glamorous Yogini sharing what inspires her healing to achieve wholeness as we all move through the good, bad and neutral periods of life. For over 25 years Allison has been guiding people to move, breathe, feel, release, center and heal. She received her yoga training from Om Yoga and has studied Yoga scriptures with Geshe Michael Roach and Lama Christie McNally. Allison has appeared on several TV shows promoting health including being a wellness consultant for the “Today Show.” Datwani creates flower mandalas to remind us of the great beauty, strength and grace that’s always around us in the natural world.
Allison Pagano has been a wellness entrepreneur for 14 years with a passion for dancing, teaching and inspiring those to live more fulfilling lives through the magic of movement. Her teaching of the Simonson Method is based in body awareness, injury prevention and a holistic approach that allows each student to develop their instrument that supports optimal body mechanics. She is a certified Dance Teacher in the Simonson Method, Yoga Instructor, Reiki Master, Bodywork Therapist and Health Counselor. She has danced with several dance companies including Dance Theatre Northwest, Nikki Manx Dance Project and Art in Motion.
Pete Teresi is a bass musician and has played with the Nikki Manx Dance Project.
Michael Porfido began his lifelong journey as a potter in 1980 when he worked as Mikail Zkin’s studio assistant at TASOC. From ’83-’87 he apprenticed with two potters in The Republic of Korea and mastered traditional techniques. During the 90s, Michael taught pottery at elementary and middle schools, completed a BA in Arts Management and attended many workshops at Peters Valley Educational Center. From 2000-2007, he was an adult ceramics instructor at ACA of NY/NJ in Jersey City and at Bostree Studios in Sugar Loaf, NY. Transformational Pathways
The experience of meeting oneself through the journey of a labyrinth. Performance by Allison Pagano and original music by Pete Teresi on bass guitar
“Since the Bronze age, labyrinths have appeared concurrently in many cultures between which there was no geographical or trade connection. The spiraling labyrinth is somehow embedded in human consciousness. In creating modern day Labyrinths, we are tapping into the folk memory of our ancestors, connecting with their wisdom and passing their art on to future generations” – Cassandra Eason
