Adult Summer Rowing Programs

ADULT NOVICE SWEEPS ~
An immersion program for novice rowers! Novices work closely with their coaches and teammates to master the basics and learn the philosophies of rowing: teamwork, teamwork, teamwork! Completion of the novice season prepares our novices to join the programs that best meet their needs and goals: sculling, recreational, intermediate or advanced teams. Rowing 101 graduates move to this program, but no prior rowing experience is necessary if you want to start on the Novice team.
PRE-REQUISITE- Must be able to swim
FEE: $295
Dates: July 6 to August 15
DAYS and TIMES: Tuesday/Thursday 5:30PM to 8PM, Saturday/Sunday at 7AM

ADULT RECREATIONAL SWEEPS -
The Adult Recreational Program is focused on building skills for beginner and intermediate - level rowers. This program is HRRA’s finishing school for beginner rowers who want more time to work up to a competitive team. Prerequisite for enrollment on this team is the completion a full novice program or by permission of the coach.
This team does not attend any races
75% attendance is encouraged.
PRE-REQUISITE – Completed Adult Novice/ can not commit to 100% practice schedule or races

DAYS and TIMES: Tuesday and Thursday 5:30PM to 8:00PM, Saturday and Sunday at 7:00AM

ADULT INTERMEDIATE SWEEPS -
The Adult Intermediate Sweeps Program is focused on skill building and race preparation. This program is appropriate for rowers who want to work up to the advanced team. Prerequisite for enrollment on this team is a full novice year or by permission of the coach. The goal is to attend one regatta at the end of each season.
75% attendance is expected.
Expected to attend Quaker Masters Regatta in Philadelphia, PA on August 5.Other regattas are optional and subject to additional race fees.
PRE-REQUISITE – One season at Adult Recreational

DATES: June 6 to August 15
DAYS and TIMES: Tuesday and Thursday 5:30PM-8:00PM, Saturday and Sunday at 7:00AM

ADULT ADVANCED SWEEPS -
The Advanced adult team focuses on racing at regional and national regattas. Rowers enrolling in this program will commit to 2 regular season races. Prerequisite for enrollment on this team is two full seasons beyond your novice year or by permission of the coach.
100% attendance recommended.
75% attendance is expected.

- Independence Day Regatta, Philadelphia, PA: Saturday, July 1
- Sweeps and Sculls Regatta, Providence, RI: Saturday, July 15
- Quaker Masters, Philadelphia, PA: Saturday, August 5
PRE-REQUISITE – One season at Adult Recreational
FEE: $550
DATES: June 6 to August 15
DAYS and TIMES*: Tuesday and Thursday 5:30PM-8:00PM, Saturday and Sunday 7:00AM
COACH(ES): Sean Ring (3 days) + Tom Sanford(1 day)
*Adjustments to practice days may be made at the coach's discretion.
(There will be a $50 fee to drop or change an advanced team registration after June 3 for summer programs and August 31st for fall programs unless it is for medical reasons and is accompanied by a doctor's note)
COXSWAINS
Coxies are responsible for all race fees. Junior Coxswains can join either a junior or an adult team. Adult coxswains are restricted to enrollment on the adult teams.
