Fall Crafts at Lyndhurst is a celebration of all things handmade and returns to Tarrytown, New York, on September 15, 16, 17, 2017. Featuring 300 modern American artists, designers and craftspeople, it is Westchester County’s most beloved arts event and favorite shopping experience at one of its most popular landmarks. It is a perfect day for the entire family! This year Hudson River Sloop Clearwater will be partnering with Fall Crafts at Lyndhurst to highlight their joint commitments to the Hudson Valley’s culture and environment and to raise funds for the Clearwater and Lyndhurst.

This festive semi-annual event is located in the beautiful Hudson Valley which National Geographic, Fodor’s and Time Magazine have all recently named one of the “Top Places to Visit” in the world. The festival is held on 67 park-like acres at one of the world’s most beautiful historic estates, Lyndhurst, home to a magnificent mansion museum (with on-going tours), a fabulous carriage house and one of America’s first bowling alleys; all with scenic views of the Hudson River. Crafts at Lyndhurst is a destination event not to miss!

Festival-goers can meet talented emerging and seasoned artists who will be selling their exciting contemporary creations which include one-of-a-kind and limited edition designs in every material imaginable. These exceptional indie artists infuse each of their pieces with a distinctive creative vision. Find earrings made of sterling silver and stingray; handbags made from wood; scarves made of bamboo; pens made of money; necklaces made of meteorites; even bowls that look like cantaloupes, alongside contemporary craft pottery, wood furniture, handwoven fashions, bronze and steel sculpture, blown glass vases and more. Visitors should also plan to visit the gourmet specialties section to fully experience scrumptious hand-crafted delights.

Fall Crafts at Lyndhurst will also have many creative activities and interactive art experiences. Visitors will have the chance to make their own Shibumi silk scarves with Patricia Disantis; watch and participate in craft demonstrations by potterScott Martin, canoe carver Larry Benjamin and pen turner Don Hart; enjoy a smorgasbordof tantalizing foods for lunch (including delicious vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options); sample and bring home yummy sweet or savory gourmet specialty foods and beverages; and entertain the kids with a variety of children’s activities including interactive puppet theater with Middle-earth Studios, face painting, storytelling, balloon animals, stilt walkers and more! And don’t forget to take a tour of the incredible Gothic Lyndhurst mansion!

For more than 30 years hundreds of thousands of people have enjoyed this semiannual cultural phenomenon that has become one of the most beloved arts festivals in the United States. Crafts at Lyndhurst has raised almost four million dollars for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and has helped sustain the careers of thousands of artists from across the country.
