Always wanted to try the pottery wheel? First Spin is the perfect place to start. This 2-hour beginner class is designed for adults who are curious about ceramics and want to experience the magic of shaping clay on the wheel — no experience required.
In a small group setting, you’ll learn the basics of centering clay, forming simple vessels, and using pottery tools — all in a relaxed, supportive environment. Whether your pot ends up wonky or perfect, the focus is on having fun, trying something new, and getting your hands dirty.
All materials and tools are provided, and your favorite piece will be glazed and fired for you to pick up later.
Held at L’Atelier, our welcoming community ceramics studio in Kingston, NY, First Spin is a great way to dip your toes into the world of pottery — solo, with a friend, or as a gift experience.
