Archaeology: Digging in the Digital Age (Grades 6, 7, and 8)
Monday - Friday
April 25–29, 2016
9 am–4 pm
This exciting Middle School Institute is more than just an introduction to traditional archaeology. From ancient Sumerian ziggurats to Civil War battlefields, the study of our human past raises questions about where we came from and where we’re going. Today’s archaeologists explore the history and prehistory of cultures around the world with a toolkit that includes sub-surface sonar surveys, simple hand-held shovels—and everything in between. If you’re curious about the real science of archaeology, come explore the excitement of digging in the digital age.
