The practice of Shinrin-yoku allows us to jump the great wall of words and book learning that keep us from experiencing the natural world on its own wonderful terms. Learn the benefits of Shinrin-Yoku, on meditative walks through meadows and woodlands. Each meeting consists of two slowly paced easy walks, prefaced by an exercise for increasing awareness through the senses. Julie Woodward one of Teatown’s Wildflower Island Guides, will lead these walks to help people find some moments of boundless space and time, where, as the great environmentalist John Muir once wrote, “the galling harness of civilization drops off” and “every leaf seems to speak.” Please dress for the weather, as we will experience the forest environment as it is offered to us. Adults Only. Members Free, Non-members $7. Programs require pre-registration. To register, call 914-762-2912 x 110.
