*The event has already taken place on this date: Fri, 07/20/2018
Rising high school juniors and seniors: Do you enjoy working through complex ideas and learning through experience? Are you passionate about food and cooking, and interested in advocating for a healthier food system? Join us at the Summer Institute! During this summer program for high school students, we will use the fertile ground of Stone Barns Center to explore food culture, food and the environment, and the good food movement. Learn about sustainable agriculture from Stone Barns Center farmers and farm apprentices.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

The Summer Institute is more than your typical camp experience. Sample topics include:
• Experience farm-fresh flavors while cooking a Mindful Meal with produce straight from the fields
• Explore the integral connections between farm health and human health
• Learn about topics like beekeeping, livestock management, mushroom inoculation, seed saving, and food waste
